GEF is dedicated to enhancing student performance by providing resources and enrichment programs in partnership with the community and Granville County Schools. The purpose of the Lela Eaton Creative Teaching grant is to enhance instruction and student achievement through creative and innovative classroom projects. Projects encompass all disciplines: math, reading, history, science, music, art, technology, and physical health. The grant should be based on a specific project that has measurable outcomes and can withstand a thorough evaluation. Thank you for your interest in the GEF Lela Eaton Creative Teaching Grant!
Lela Eaton Creative Teaching Grants will be awarded in an amount up to $1,500 for use during the 2023-2024 academic year. Entire schools or school departments are eligible to apply for the grant.

The purpose of the Experience Grants are to enhance instruction and student achievement through learning experiences outside of the classroom. Experiences can encompass all disciplines: math & reading, history & science, music, art, technology, and physical health. Examples of suitable experiences include (but are not limited to) off-campus field trips, on or off-campus camps, programs brought into the school, etc. The experience should be based around a specific lesson plan, related to the curriculum, which has measurable outcomes and can withstand a thorough evaluation. The Performing & Visual Arts Grant is designed to support, promote, and enhance creative efforts in the fields of music, theater, dance, visual arts, and photography/videography. The goals for this grant are to focus on supporting student projects that go beyond what the current visual and performing arts curriculum provides and by extending exposure of these artistic endeavors to the community, i.e. other students in the school, other schools, and/or to the larger Granville County community. The project should relate to the appropriate arts curriculum and be based on a specific project that has measurable outcomes which can withstand a thorough evaluation. Performing & Visual Arts Grants will be awarded in an amount up to $1,500 for use during the 2023-2024 academic year. Only Middle and High School Grades are eligible to apply for the grant.

The purpose of the Success through Technology grant is to enhance instruction and student achievement through the use of technology. The Foundation intends that this grant promote student performance and active learning. To this end, the grant should be based on a specific project that has measurable outcomes and can withstand a thorough evaluation. DownloadIn addition to grant funding, the Granville Education Foundation also provides enrichment programs for Granville County Students in the fields of Cultural Arts and Literacy Initiatives.
The Granville Education Foundation is honored to announce, we are a recipient of the North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Grant for the 2022-2023 academic year. With Grassroots support, we are able to enhance our ‘Arts in School Program’ within Granville County Schools, which provides a direct effect on our community and enhancement of the arts in Granville County, NC.
Having always placed emphasis on literacy in Granville County Schools, the Granville Education Foundation finds it imperative to support this initiative by assessing each year where literacy support can be most beneficial and providing resources aligned with those needs. During the 2022-2023 academic year, we again directed our support to the elementary school level and gave each elementary school a $1,000 Literacy Grant to use for their particular literacy needs; therefore, proudly donating $11,000 this year.
