thad stem scholarship

The Thad Stem Scholarship is given annually to a graduating senior from a Granville County high school with an interest in the arts and who demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to students demonstrating an interest in literary arts. 

This scholarship was established to honor Mr. Thaddeus Stem Jr., poet, writer, and newspaper columnist from Oxford. He was widely known for his wit and talents in a variety of literary fields. The ThadStem Scholarship is an endowed fund, it lives in perpetuity, making permanent funding available to award the scholarship. The Granville Education Foundation will serve as the beneficiary of this endowment and will administer the Thad Stem Scholarship with the annual distribution.
